2020 Kelowna Walk to End ALS

Walkin for Frank Fund

My Father, Frank Novakowski LIVED and BRAVELY FOUGHT ALS for over 11 yrs. When Frank was diagnosed few people even knew what ALS was. Frank was incredibly strong every single day in the fight against ALS, he fundraised and wasn't afraid to speak out. This year we will be walking in memory of Frank.

Only 50% of people live more than 5 years with ALS. This disease takes away your ability to walk, speak, write, breathe, eat and swallow. Very little is known about what causes ALS.

With our Family and Friends we support the WALK FOR ALS because it raises funds to provide services for people living with ALS in our local communities.Providing home care, medical care, therapy and equiptment for people with ALS is incredibly costly. This is the largest volunteer led fundraiser for ALS across the country. Funds received also support research to make ALS a treatable, not a terminal disease. The ALS society provided my Father with vital equiptment and support.

The WALK for ALS is about local communities coming together to raise funds and celebrate hope for a future without ALS. Every year we, Family and Friends support to WALK for ALS.

Please HELP US END ALS by signing up for the WALK or making a donation. Thank you for your support!!

On behalf, of the ALS Society of BC board, staff and volunteers, thank you for everything you do!
