To cure ALS through funding research, while advocating for and supporting people living with ALS.

PEOPLE LIVING WITH ALS STILL NEED YOU – ESPECIALLY DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME IN OUR WORLD

100% of all donations to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Society of British Columbia  will remain in BC to support patient service programs and research through PROJECT HOPE.

We hope you and your family are well.  Knowing that many Canadians are feeling the personal and economic effects of the COVID-19 crisis, we put a great deal of thought into whether we should reach out to you at this time.  However, the harsh reality is that ALS does not stop and neither can we.

The need for your support is more vital and urgent than ever, especially in the light of the fact we may have to cancel, postpone or reinvent our fundraising events in an effort to keep people safe.

We hope you will help if you are able.

ALS Robs people of so much, especially time.

Help people living with ALS today.

Your generous donation will help people and their families living with ALS to access our patient services including support groups, mobile clinics, psychological support services and equipment loan program.  Your support will keep alive the hope of finding a cure for ALS and provide quality care for those living with ALS.

We are extremely grateful for the generous support of PROJECT HOPE and are pleased to announce the $5.3 Million goal has been achieved!

Two goals for PROJECT HOPE are:

  1. To establish an ALS Research Professorship at UBC which will be held by a Clinician/Scientist to champion and run the program. This will be funded by an endowment investment of $5,293,750.  This endowed position will exist in perpetuity.
  2. The ALS Professorship will strive to create an optimal environment integrating research and clinical care.

A gift of stocks can maximize the value of your philanthropy while also giving you tax advantages. Your generosity means that people living with ALS today can benefit from services, support, and advocacy – and makes possible the effective treatments of tomorrow through research investment. Your workplace might be one of the several companies that assist their employees and retirees through charity matching gifts. Please visit your human resources or payroll department to check if your employer offers any of the following:

  • Matching your charitable donation – normally an employer matching form needs to be completed by the employee in order to initiate the matching gift.
  • Volunteer grants – If you like volunteering, some employers issue donations in honour of the volunteer time done by their employees.
  • Payroll deduction – If your company is connected to the annual United Way or HealthPartners campaign, you can designate your gift to the ALS Society of BC.

Don’t miss the opportunity to double the impact of your support to the charity you are helping.
